Apple Certified Desktop Technician (ACDT)

1. Apple Desktop Service Exam 9L0-001 (Hardware)
2. Mac OS Service and Support Exam 9L0-050 (Software)

1. Logon to GSX
2. Click on Training and Certification on the top of the page.
3. Click on Desktop Certification Courses on the left. (The Mac OS Service and Support Exam Courses will be covered in San Diego)
4. Click on What is on the exam? and review the Skill Assessment Guide for Desktop Exam that shows in detail what the test will cover.
5. Complete all of the Desktop Hardware Certification Courses and read through the Macintosh service manuals in Service Source. The Service Source manuals are Apple's primary vehicle for hardware training, making them an integral and essential part of the service training curriculum. Use of the service manuals enables the technician to become familiar with Macintosh parts and their functions and common problems and their solutions, major objectives of the certification exam.
6. Repeat steps four and five until you're confident you can pass the exams.

• demonstrate logical troubleshooting methods
• demonstrate appropriate use of tools and references
• demonstrate proper take-apart skills
• follow Apple safety precautions and ESD rules
• avoid using any extra parts
• avoid damaging any equipment
• repair the system and get it operating within Apple specifications
